umarasami Kamaraj Nadar Goud was born in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu.

K Kamaraj Nadar Goud was known as Kingmaker in Indian politics during 1960's, Kamaraj was CM of Tamilnadu during 1954–1963 Kamaraj remained Chief Minister for three consecutive terms.
India's highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, posthumously was awarded to Kamaraj in 1976.

Industries such as paper, sugar, chemicals and cement took off during the period.

1. Madurai Kamaraj University is in honour of K Kamaraj Nadar Goud
2. Chennai Airport domestic Terminal is named Kamaraj Terminal.
3. Chennai's Beach Road renamed Kamarajar Salai.
4. Bangalore's North Parade Road as K. Kamaraj Rd.
5. In 2004 a Tamil film titled Kamaraj was made based on the life history of Kamaraj.
6. A large number of statues have been erected in his honour across Tamilnadu.
